It's not just for diving in the Philippines, you can meet the endangered species of the Philippine tarsier in Bohol Island

When it comes to the most popular tourist attractions in the Philippines, it is necessary to nominate boracay. But the Philippines with more than 7000 islands is not only an island of long beach. Apart from boracay, the island to be introduced today is beautiful and quiet, which is really suitable for relaxation. You're right! It's Bohol Island. Compared with boracay, it doesn't have a strong commercial atmosphere and a variety of water activities, but the scenery and environment here can definitely match boracay!

Blue sea and blue sky, sea and sky line, mint island is inlaid in this blue. There are not too many commercial development, nor tourists like boracay. There are only countless colorful fish and sea stars, and of course, the invincible sea view.

Diving Resort

Bonlau island and baricasa island are both famous diving islands of Mentha Island, and also known as world-class diving resort. If you are a surfer, you must not miss the shrimp paste island in the Philippines, but if you are a diver who likes to enjoy marine life and coral in the underwater world, you must not miss Mint island. Especially on the island of Barry CASA, the famous Paris Casa fault is magnificent. It can see the storm of turtles and sardines, and can get close contact with whale sharks.

Viewing Philippine tarsier

In addition to visiting the most classic scenic spot of chocolate mountain, it is also an essential experience to watch the Philippine tarsier, because this endangered creature is only the most easily seen in Bohol Island. If you have ever been touched by the movie et, please don't miss these cute little things here, because it is the prototype of the movie ET and the national treasure of the Philippines.

The tarsal monkey is also called tarsal monkey because of its long tarsal bone. It belongs to the lower order of tarsal monkey family of primates. It is the smallest known monkey species in the world. It is only about the size of an adult's fist, 9-16cm long, 13-27cm long tail, and 80-165g weight. It is a very small primate, named for its eyes are very big like glasses. The proportion of its eyes is the largest among all mammals.

The diameter of the eyes can be more than 1 cm, but the eyes can only look straight and can't rotate, so always turn your head when looking at things. The eye is suitable for night vision. There is no cone in the retina.

The back hair of the Philippine tarsier is soft, the hair color is gray, yellow brown, light brown, and the belly hair is light gray. The head is large and round, the face is forward, the orbit is thin, and the ear shell is thin and hairless. The tail is basically glabrous, with only a pinch of hair on the top.

They have short forelimbs, long hind legs, and round suction cups at the toe tips, which can stay on many smooth surfaces. The tibia and fibula heal together, and the muscles on the hind legs are well-developed. They are good at running, jumping and climbing trees.

They may not be as nimble as other kinds of monkeys, but they are definitely good at jumping. They can not only jump in a straight line, but also change direction in the air, such as making a sharp turn. Its jumping ability is only comparable to that of the tufted monkey, which can jump several meters between branches.

There is no nest for the marmoset, and the suction cup at the toe is very firm. When sleeping, the marmoset clings to the upright trunk and directly hangs on the tree to rest. Also, they can make a 360 degree turn with their heads still.

When they were born, they had no perfect organs, but the only thing was that their fur was very thick. And we know that babies are born with their eyes closed, but the Philippine tarsiers are different. Their eyes are open as soon as they are born. Their strong grasping ability may be because their mother wants to take them everywhere. If the little monkey wants to keep up with his mother, he must firmly grasp her fur.
