Sports technology company Form has released the Form Swim Goggles, which allow athletes to watch their results on the augmented reality screen when they wear them underwater.
The lightweight goggles, which cost $200, were founded by Dan Eisenhardt, who sold Recon instruments to Intel in 2015.

The perspective ar screen can display the performance of athletes in the timed competition in real time. The Vancouver based company says the form swim goggles, developed over the past four years in collaboration with top competitive swimmers and coaches, including former Olympic athletes, has made training smarter, more purposeful and more attractive to swimmers of all levels.
Swimming is one of the largest sports in the world, with more than 30 million active swimmers in the United States alone. On the land, real-time performance index acquisition through sports watches and bicycle computers has changed the training methods of runners, cyclists and triathletes. But in the swimming pool, the existing wearable devices are useless and hard to access in real time. And Form Swim Goggles solves these pain points.

"For 14 years, I've been competing in swimming and I can't get my indicators in real time. I feel really painful." Eisenhart, founder and CEO of form, said in a statement that the idea of "form" originated many years ago, but we are just entering an era where technology allows us to seamlessly deliver this experience through a pair of advanced goggles. We are proud that we have been able to solve one of the basic problems in swimming through a top professional team. "
According to the company, Form Swim Goggles consists of three key components:
An augmented reality display. The display is integrated into the goggle lens, providing a completely unobtrusive perspective experience and always in focus.
A small airborne computer. With its ultra compact shape and 16 hour battery life, the airborne computer uses artificial intelligence to track and display segment time, distance, stroke rate and stroke number.
Advanced goggles design Form uses advanced materials and industry-leading manufacturing processes to provide the best fit, durability and fluid dynamics in the design, just like a normal swimming goggles.
At the same time as Form Swim Goggles, there are also form swim applications for iPhone and Android. The app allows swimmers and coaches to view and share the workouts recorded in goggles and track progress over time. It also allows swimmers to precisely customize the parameters displayed in the goggles and when each parameter appears: while swimming, turning or resting.
"I participated in two Olympic Games: 2004 and 2012." Form's strategic partner, Scott Dickens, said in a statement, "at the elite level, everything can be measured to one hundredth of a second. The importance of being able to access real-time indicators in goggles for training is self-evident. Form enables swimmers and coaches to better adapt to what's going on. Even if you're not a high-level swimmer, form can make swimming more attractive and fun. You always know exactly what you're doing, and you can compete with yourself when you swim. "
Eisenhart is a sports technology entrepreneur and a former swimmer of the njcaa. He started the company in 2016. His former company, Recon instruments, is a leader in AR sports glasses and was acquired by Intel in 2015.
Form hired many of the original team members to take advantage of decades of comprehensive expertise in eyewear design, activity tracking algorithms, and augmented reality optics.
